Summer Solstice 2014 Business Meeting Minutes

Called to Order: 7:15 pm

Folk present: Grey Catsidhe, Weretoad, Tara Loughborough, John, Cassandra, and Andrew

Allies: None

Old Business:

  • Muin Mound’s Lugh Games 
    • July 25th, 26th, and 27th
    • There will be camping, games, bonfires, a ritual on Sunday at 11 am, and potlucks both days
    • Artisans are invited to show their work
  • FAE Festival
    • Aug 23rd 10 am – 6 pm
    • We are still committed to taking care of the recycling
    • Andrew will check on bins (EDIT: This will not work out so we will need to think of something else.)
    • Grey is giving a couple workshops
    • We will have an informational table
  • Holda’s Initiation
    • Successful if small event
    • Holda will be missed
    • Brief discussion on German beer 😉
  • Tara’s Beads
    • Tara showed us mockups for the proposed Three Kindreds beads
    • Cassandra and Grew were very interested.  Discussion will continue.
  • Primitive Camping
    • Grey will check into group rates
    • Everyone agreed this would be a good folk and ally group activity for next year

New Business:

  • Correspondances
    • TILT’s newsletter featured a brief mention of us and our participation at their Arbor Day celebration.
  • Treasurer’s Report
    • Weretoad reported that we have $241.91 on hand since our last gathering
    • $17 in donations were collected at the Summer Solstice event
    • This brought us to $258.91
    • The group voted to donate an extra $5 to the Kripalu Yoga Center on top of our usual fee of $25.
    • We were left with $228.91.
  • Volunteer Work
    • The Kripalu Yoga Center gave us a list of different things they would like help with.  Everyone is encouraged to find a task they can help with if possible.
  • Full Moon Candle Magic Workshop
    • Aug 9th 5pm – 9pm
    • Folk agreed that looking into Carthage parks would be a good idea since we haven’t done anything there in awhile (EDIT: We could not get reservations for the pavilions at those parks.  Due to a lack of shade, we decided to take our chances at the Thompson Park in Watertown.  If it rains, this workshop will take place before our Autumn Equinox ritual.)
    • Those participating must bring their own candle
    • We will discuss dinner on the FB group
  • Autumn Equinox
    • Sept 27th
    • Cassandra is going to lead this ritual
    • The deity of the occasion will be the Earth Mother
    • Planning will take place on the FB group
  • Samhain
    • Nov 1st
  • Winter Solstice
    • Dec 13th
    • Grey suggested having a costumed Yule Ball, which everyone liked
  • Dedicant Path Study Program
    • Grey reminded everyone that she’s here to help if needed
  • Folk BBQ
    • A Folk Only BBQ planned for July 12th –
