In case you haven’t seen it, Northern Rivers Protogrove was mentioned in today’s Watertown Daily Times. The article explains the upcoming Arbor Day “For the Trees” celebration hosted by the Thousand Islands Land Trust in Clayton, NY.
It says we’ll be doing “an interpretive dance workshop for the children and volunteers to emulate ‘the spirit of the trees.'” While it will really be a guided, active meditation, this is meant to be a secular event so “interpretive dance” will probably make more sense to a lot of people! We’ll see how it goes, but I know kids love to use their imaginations and move!
There will be other great activities for families as well as tree planting and related education. If you live in the Watertown or 1000 Islands area, it will be at the Zenda Farm Preserve in Clayton, NY from 9:30 to 11:30 on Saturday, April 26th! After that, the group is going to have lunch in town and discuss the Tuatha De Danann!
